This elegant cake serving plate from Villeroy & Boch is the perfect addition to any dinnerware collection, ideal for serving your favorite desserts or for just having on display in your home. The Le Ballon pattern features a  design based on the water color paintings of John Mercier, a famous French artist born in the 19th century. "la REALE survolant PARIS" printed at the bottom of the image translates into "the real life flying over Paris." Crafted in Luxembourg from high-quality vitro porcelain, which has a creamy white tone (as opposed to porcelian, which has a pure white tone), this round plate is durable and easy to clean. It measures 12 7/8 inches wide (handle to handle) by 11.5 inches tall.

The luxury German brand, Villeroy & Boch, has stood for timeless elegance, innovative design and outstanding quality since 1748.

This plate was purchased in an antiques shop and appears to have never been used because there are no cutlery or other marks anywhere on the plate. As a result, this would be considered to be in very good condition, like new.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the fragile nature of porcelain plates, I will insure your package and pay for the shipping. In order to process any claims, should the plate be damaged during shipping, I will photograph how the plate was protected before packing and the condition of the box before shipping.

My goal is to delight my customers (and earn positive feedback) so please ask questions or request additional photos BEFORE purchase as it is difficult to answer specific questions after your item has shipped.

If you are interested in buying more than one item, please contact me before buying so I can offer a discount and combine the items to reduce your shipping costs.

I do not accept returns unless the item is not as described or is damaged during shipping. In that event, in order to receive a refund, you must notify me immediately and provide photographs of any signs of damage:

(1.) Photograph the box as it arrived, before opening (including photos of any parts of the box that appear damaged). Please open the box on top (usually where the label is) and take (2.) a photo of the item(s) as they are positioned in the box. After removing the item(s), please take (3.) a photo of the item(s) in their wrapping.  After uncovering the wrapping, please take (4.) photos of any damage.

USPS says: “If a claim is filed because some or all of the contents are missing or damaged, the addressees must retain the mailing container, including any damaged articles, all packaging, and any contents receipted. Upon written request by the USPS, the addressee must make this proof available to the local post office for inspection, retention, and disposition in accordance with the claims decision. Failure to do so will result in denial of the claim."
