Beautiful Small Antique 18th ? Century Oil on Canvas Painting of a Maiden, Girl
A delightful small classical oil on canvas painting of a young maiden. This is a genuine, original and early painting, quite possibly dating to 18th century and Italian in origin although no specific provenance information is available. It was acquired as pictured with an antique giltwood frame, although this may be a 19th century replacement. The painting sits loosely within the frame, and is now missing the inner wooden stretching frame to which it would have originally been pinned. I have added the hanging screws but otherwise the framing remains exactly as acquired.
The painting is not signed.
Painting remains in good condition with only the expected signs of age to the canvas - no holes or splits. No repairs or restorative work.
