As these go, this is a pretty nice one.  It has the normal paint flaking, etc. and does show some use but has been fairly well cared for.

The underside is particularly good.  The mechanism will operate properly if you play around with it.  It's built so that '2' nuts control the turning rod which, in turn, raises and lowers the bottom doors.  From my old hot rod days, I got out my set of minerature ignition wrenches and adjusted both nuts.  They have to be set tight against the wheel so that all turn in unison.  However, they both do NOT want to stay tight.  So, you'll simply have to take my word for it that both bottom doors will operate properly IF you continue to play with the nuts.

As I said, this is a pretty nice little dark green hopper car.  It's original, rolls well, and looks very good.  Someone has taken good care of it.
