We go to estate sales regularly and come across a wide array of unique and rare items.  We add to our growing online inventory daily.  We pick up new items from all over the world and all over the US.  We also have a growing customer wish list.  If you'd like to, feel free to add us to your saved seller's list and let us know what you collect and/or need.  We’d be honored to add you to our customer wish list.

We ask what we consider to be a fair price for anything we sell and understand that our idea of a fair price may be someone else's 'that's too much' price.  If that's the case, feel free to make us an offer and will consider it.  We also have sales regularly, so check back often.

There is always a Sale by TheBay!

We got a ton of vintage Japanese items from an estate sale of an elderly lady who was from Japan and came to the U.S. shortly after WWII.  She traveled to Japan throughout her earlier life and had a house with more Japanese items than we have ever seen in one place.  We set aside quite a few items with many of them still in their sealed packaging or clearly never used.  We never got around to listing them and figured they'd be better placed somewhere other than inside of a large plastic bag lined cardboard box in the closet.  Feel free to check out the items that we will be listing and as always, we are more than happy to combine shipping.

Now onto the item for sale.

For sale is a pair of vintage Japanese paper hyottoko and otafuku mask door or wall hangings.

Truth be told, we have no idea what these are technically called or their use.  We'd love to know what these are meant for if anyone has knowledge of their use and meaning.

The package contains a folded up thick paper print of a hyottoko and otafuku mask with several paper stickers of the eyes, eyebrows, noses and mouths for each mask to be applied to the main print of the mask.

There is also a small paper printout that was in with these paper mask prints that is printed in Japanese, so we aren't clear on what it says, but we trust someone out there does.

These have been folded up in their original bag since they were purchased and are in excellent, like new condition.

When unfolded, each mask printout measures 19 1/8" by 15 3/4".

This item will be shipped in a padded envelope via insured ground advantage with the USPS.  We put all our items that ship in padded envelopes in between cardboard for extra protection.

Thanks for looking and God bless!
