Niles Weekly Register, Volume XI, Nos. 1-26, September 7, 1816 to February 22, 1817.
Bound volume of title page, index and 26 complete issues of the first national newspaper. The editor announced the price of $5 for a year’s subscription, the equivalent of $110 today. The issues contain many articles on the Mexican Revolution, the Barbary pirates, including a full page map of Algiers, and the slave trade. Lacks covers. Contents generally clean with some occasional light foxing, one page (23/24) with a small tear and very slight loss of text, and a very light stain in the upper margin of most issues.
