About the artist Jean Boxer-Hammer (1927-2022) of Woodstock, New York:

Jean grew up in Brooklyn as the daughter of two talented painters. Summers were spent in Woodstock. She attended Music and Art High School and went on to earn graduate degrees from Queens College and Syracuse University. Jean had a long career in the New York public school system as an art teacher and then as a guidance counselor. Jean was an active member of the Woodstock community. She exhibited art at a WAAM and a number of other local galleries.
