HORNBY O Gauge CLOCKWORK No.40 TANK GOODS SET.

Manufactured by Meccano Ltd. of Liverpool circa 1957, from the post war Hornby Trains 0 gauge range.
The British Railways No.40 series was introduced in 1954.
Lithographed tinplate finish, all metal construction with plastic wheels to the wagons.
Structurally sound & complete with all the correct original fittings.
Clockwork mechanism in full working order, brake, forward & reveres all function correctly.
Set comprises: locomotive, timber wagon, open wagon, Shell Oil tank wagon, oval of track, brake rail, track connector plate & key.
Track tarnished but rolling stock in overall good to very good condition for age. Open wagon looks as if it has been dropped and is missing a coupling. Loco front coupling damaged.
Contained in the original set box, light scuffing and marks.
