This vase is just beautiful! It was one of the first pieces that I bought when I began collecting Murano glass. It is a pale, light blue that gradually changes to a cream color at the bottom. The entire piece is flecked with gold. It is elegant and stunning. It is the kind of vase that I would expect to see Grace Kelly filling with white roses in High Society; it is that kind of elegant!
The vase measures a stately 17 inches tall. The opening is 5.25 inches, the vase's widest point is 6 inches and the base is 4 inches across.
I said that the vase has no damage and it doesn't but the rim was finished in a unique way. Underneath the final clear layer of glass there are two areas that look different from the rest of the rim. I have added photographs of this. It's not cracks or damage of any kind, one area looks as though the blue layer is shorter than the clear layer while the other area looks as though the blue layer was swirled underneath the clear layer. The tip of a soft serve ice cream cone comes to mind. Anyway, please look at the photos and ask questions or let me know what you think! Thanks so much.
