This stone is actually deceiving.  Its not really green at all but a rich royal blue.  But it is interspersed with a tannish matrix that gives the illusion of being green.  Have a close up view and you will see a very blue example of rich dark turquoise.  Also from Carico - it stands apart as it is more illusory than truly green. A very beautiful phenomenon I hope you will agree.

So much has been made of the apple green turquoise nuggets that made the mine famous - people don't know that high quality turquoise from this mine is somewhat rare.  I've got some really nice material in my collection which I cut from.

About my collection, it was my grandfather's which he gave to me when he passed.  He was extensively collecting from the late 50s to the 80s.  Because of him, I've got some really nice material from dozens of mines throughout the Southwest.
