FIRE SALE!!!!!
WITH A BROKEN HEART, MY BUSINESS IS SHUTTERING.
I AM OFFERING THIS BEAUTIFUL GOWN FOR WAY
BELOW WHAT I ORIGINALLY PAID FOR IT. THIS ASKING
PRICE IS A HUGE LOSS FOR ME BUT I AM HOPING THAT
SOME COLLECTOR SEES IT FOR ITS TRUE WORTH.
I have always had a place in my vintage loving heart for the designer
Hannah Troy. I once saw a drawing of hers and took it to my seamstress,
she made the exact dress for me in a festive Scottish tartan (McQueen).
So many compliments!!!
This gown is incredibly, architecturally constructed and it actually took a
couple of different fittings on my mannequin before I got it correct. Made
of a perfect sheer Silk chiffon, the more I worked with it, I found it gasp
worthy. The top has a low, slightly scooped fitted bodice with an overlay
of Silk that provides a Sabrina, or a boatneck neckline that meets the straps
a little wide on the shoulders. It is the small touches that work. The back is
low and scooped with Silk overlay. 2 hook & eye at the top left strap, and the
closure for this dress required a physics degree from MIT. :) Sort of...Once
totally open, there is a 15" nylon zip up the left with a hook & eye at top; also
there are 7 snaps to close the fabric over the zipper. Then the ribbon belt has
to be looped around the waist and secured with 4 hook & eye at the waist
(photos 18-20). From the waist left, the Silk layers fall asymmetrically all over
each other, cascading down for a full fishtail effect.
Taking photos of a black gown can be incredibly difficult so I lightened the
exposure in photos 07 & 23 so that you can see the complicated beauty of
it. The gown is seriously Black Tie/ Red Carpet worthy but could be perfect
for an outdoor garden or ocean wedding (guest or bride).
