The Nikon F3 holds a very special place in the hearts of film photographers and collectors alike. The Nikon F3 combined ground breaking technology, innovation, and adaptability when it was released. Whether as a working tool or creating art this iconic professional film SLR remains a choice camera for both serious photographers and serious enthusiasts. Its popularity has  endured due to its reliability, performance and timeless design.

The Nikon F3 was the third generation of the professional-class Nikon F-series 35mm SLR camera. Introduced in 1980, it succeeded the original Nikon F (1959) and the highly successful Nikon F2 (1970s).
The F3's build quality is legendary. Its robust construction featured a rugged metal body, precision engineering and weather sealing. Professionals relied on it for its durability even in challenging conditions.

The F3 is a manual-focus camera with manual exposure control, but it offers an aperture-priority mode as well.
Its electronic shutter controls were cutting edge at the time. The F3 allowed users to swap viewfinders and focusing screens. The bright, clear viewfinder makes composition and focusing a joy. The film transport action is buttery smooth.

The Nikon F3 was part of a full comprehensive system. It worked seamlessly with a enormous range of Nikkor lenses, motor drives, and other accessories. The F3's production cycle extended from 1980 to 2000 or 2002, making it one of Nikon's longest-selling professional cameras.

This example is very clean overall. All paint and metal is bright with only very little wear on the base. All functions work as they should. I have not put film in it for years so I can't be certain of the accuracy of the metering and shutter speeds but they seems right to me. I've included new batteries in it. Internally the film transport chamber and the viewfinder are very clean. There is slight brassing on the top of the pentaprism, but it adds to its character. Has slight deformation near the film counter. Comes with body cap only.
