Up for sale is a very nice vintage Shure M55E cartridge with its original Shure N55E stylus. This cartridge and stylus were removed from a working turntable. They have been fully tested and sound superb.
The M55E was considered to be Shure's third best cartridge after the V15 and the M91ED. It had a lighter magnet than the M44E and therefore had lower mass and greater tracking capabilities and lower tracking weights then the M44E. If you Google reviews you will see that many people think that this cartridge/stylus equals the M91ED and possibly even the V15.
Rarely do you find these with the original elliptical stylus. In this case the stylus is in great condition. I have examined it using a jeweler's loop and it shows no signs of wear.
The sale includes the Audio Technica headshell shown in the first few pictures making the unit ready to plug and play in many turntables.
