To see her is to covet her! I am so tempted to keep this one for myself, but have to let her go! She is an 18" antique French E.J. Jumeau Bebe, Second Series with the look of an early doll. Absolutely gorgeous bisque head with superb painting of her facial features. Perfection. Her huge luminous brown paperweight eyes have an almond shape to them, similar to the Jumeau portrait dolls, and are surrounded by loads of finely painted eyelashes. Multi-stroke dark brown eyebrows. And those lips! She has a spectacular center of the lips "cupid's bow"! High and pronounced. Her applied ears have terrific modeling, first out of the mold look. No earrings, no chipping on earring holes. Truly special face on this girl!

Bisque head has been both lighted with a strong light and a black light and there is no damage to report. She has her original pate and original mohair wig, which still has a nail attaching the wig to the pate. Original spring attaching her head to the body. Incised on the back of her head " DEPOSE E 8 J" with red artist marks. Very nice Jumeau body with most of the original finish. Strung nicely, she holds poses well. Marked with the blue "Jumeau" mark on her lower back.

I believe her bonnet is original to her and gorgeous! Her dress was likely made by a doll artisan dress maker some time ago to go with her bonnet. It has antique laces and crochet buttons decorating it. It is wonderfully done. Antique pantaloons and slip. Original Jumeau marked shoes and likely original socks as they would have gone well with her bonnet.

Hard to find a more impressive EJ Jumeau. She is stunning.
