For auction is a Very Rare Antique Roseville Pottery Matt Green Large Wall Pocket.
This wall pocket is from Roseville's "Matte Green" product line which was produced from 1907 to about 1920.
This is a very rare pattern. There are no Roseville wall pockets of this design available anywhere on the internet that I can find.
The design appears to be an early art deco style. The finish is a mottled matte green. There are no markings anywhere on the piece.
Note: this is not from the Roseville Egypto line. According to Roseville, all Egypto pottery was marked. Also according to Roseville, most Matte Green products were not marked.
This is an unusually large wall pocket, measuring 14.75 inches tall and 7 inches wide. Most Roseville wall pockets are about 10 inches tall and 4.5 inches wide.
This piece is in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs. White spots on the back and side are where there was missing green glaze from the original production.
Writing on the back is from a previous owner.
