Up for sale is a used Marantz 2270 stereo receiver. Nothing much else needs to be said about Marantz, this is rock solid 1970's sound.  This has been professionally tested and serviced, and new LEDs were installed. It is all original, see the interior photos, there are no blown or bulging caps. All of the switches and knobs work smoothly. The pictures show it tuning in an FM station. There are 24 pictures, so check them all.

This receiver is one owner, and was purchased new and ordered with the wood case. You'll note the wood case has the rear grill support, and is made of plywood as the early cases were, yet the serial number is one of the later ones. I've noted a few other similar serial number 2270's with the same case that were ordered originally from Marantz with the wood case (see ebay item 285789193185) and have a late serial number but the anomaly of the older original case. I suspect but can't confirm that when you wanted to add the wooden case, you were sent the WC-22 to slip your Marantz into.  The WC-22 aftermarket cases were made of particle board, and sized slightly larger. The original case on this Marantz is a tighter fit and has no top metal cover for the receiver.  If you look at the photos you can see that the receiver is held in place by bolts, not screws, and there are six, not four.

There are a few minor scratches and scuffs, but it has not been re-stained or treated in any way. I think its more classic that way.

This is a heavy item. Shipping weight is 44 pounds. It will be shipped well protected in a foam lined box. Shipping weight is 44 pounds, and will be actual cost to your location via USPS Ground Advantage.  I've added a Priority Mail option if you want it faster. I will ship International via eBay's Global Shipping program.

Check my feedback. I'm usually a buyer not a seller on eBay, but when I sell, buyers are very happy.

This is packed and ready to go. it is double boxed, each box is double thickness cardboard, with foam and bubble wrap stabilizing and protecting the receiver in the first box, and placed in the larger box on a bed of 2 1/2' styrofoam sheets and bubble wrap, and protected on both sides and top with double layers of 1/2 styrofoam sheets. I'll ship it insured, and I will pay the cost of insurance. I'm confident it will arrive to you safely. I'd post pictures of the packing but can send them ahead of time if you like, just send me an ebay message. Thanks and good luck in the bidding!

A question was asked if I would ship FedEx or UPS. I added a UPS Ground option to the shipping options. FedEx always has delayed surcharges, so I shy away from them, but if FedEx is your preferred shipper I can send you an invoice with FedEx as the shipping option. You know what method is safest and best for your area. In either case I will pay for the cost of extra insurance on the shipment.
