This box exactly as it was found came from the filmation animation studio, it is an 11" diameter metal eastman film box marked "Filmation demo reel outs"
It contains all 35mm strips of varying lengths with hundreds and up to possibly estimated ~~1000 individual frames with hand etched scenes and frames for demo reels / scenes / frames for their movies.
the strips are rolled as pictured, the hand made etchings were made directly into the film, some seem to be made into the emulsion itself and most are made on the oher side of the emulsion, scratched into the film.
Upon close inspection, i am amazed of the care and details they show,
some of the film seems to be dyed in order to create images, some have a combination of dye and etching, some b&w and some color.
I have taken about 200 photos of some of the images but there are simply too many to show them all, some pictures are taken looking at the images, and some pictures are taken looking at the film at an angle to show the etching lines.
Now we know how some of the filmation images were made...
Very interesting historical and unique art, with unique filmation images originals, many never before seen!
Also included in the box are a few rolls of audio tape? also 35mm.
THE FILM IS IN very GOOD CONDITION, is solid, HAS no or minimal vinegar SMELL, IT IS STRAIGHT, NOT CURLED, not wavy, NOT BRITTLE, NO MOISTURE INVOLVED.
