The 4L80-E (and similar 4L85-E) is a series of automatic transmissions from General Motors. Designed for longitudinal engine configurations, the series includes 4 forward gears. It is an evolution of the Turbo-Hydramatic 400, first produced in October, 1963. 4L80-Es have been optioned only in Chevrolet/GMC pickups, vans, and commercial vehicles, and the Hummer H1.

The "MT1" 4L80-E is able to handle vehicles up to 8000 lb (3629 kg) GVWR with up to 440 ft·lbf (597 N·m) of torque. Final drive ratios include 3.42, 3.73, and 4.10.

The "MN8" 4L85-E is able to handle vehicles from 7200 to 16,500 lb (3265 - 7483 kg) GVWR with up to 460 ft·lbf (624 N·m) of torque. Final drive ratios include 3.42, 3.73, and 4.10.

WARRANTY POLICY 

We offer a 12 month unlimited mile warranty on all of our re-manufactured transmissions. All automatic transmissions must have a re-manufactured torque converter purchased through us in order for warranty to stand. We offer many upgrades and options for our re-manufactured transmissions.   A 24 or 36 month extended warranty may be purchased for an additional cost.

CORE POLICY

We do require that you return your old transmission core. A refundable core deposit will be required at time of purchase. In order to insure that we receive your old transmission within a timely manner we do not activate your warranty until your old transmission core arrives. If you don't have an identical rebuildable core to send back to us, then your core deposit may not be refunded. Core charges vary depending on the transmission type. We have discounted shipping rates available.  Shipping rates vary depending on destination.  ALL "RESIDENTIAL" deliveries & pickups will be charged a $50.00 fee each way.  Call us with all your shipping questions.
