Noel Gallagher's 1960's Gibson ES-355

First introduced with mono circuitry and optional stereo wiring and Varitone, the Gibson ES-355TD (Thin line, Double pickups) was the world's first thinline archtop semi-acoustic guitar. Manufactured from 1958 until 1982, the ES-355 was fitted with the Varitone Stereo option (SV) in 1959 and released as the ES-355TD-SV. The ebony fingerboard inlays are mother-of-pearl blocks and the headstock has a split-diamond inlay rather than the diminutive crown inlay used on the 335 and 345. In addition to the headstock, binding was also applied to the fretboard and both the front and the back edges of the body and uses gold plated hardware throughout. The ES-355 was available with a Vibrola tremolo unit or a Bigsby vibrato tailpiece. Noel began using an ES-355 for live performances in 2002 and it has since become his main guitar. As time has moved on, Noel has played more classic models and now takes Gibson ES-345's and ES-355's on tour. For his current career, this 1960's ES-355 remains his go-to guitar as he uses it as the basis for everything.
