Customer Review of the Unity One Kit

Please find below as requested a review of the Unity One. 

“ In the eighties ‘British Rail’ had a slogan “Let the train take the strain”.The adverts showed a train speeding along with stress-free passengers avoiding the hassle of traffic jams.

Listening to the ‘Unity One’ made me think of this advert. The sound is so effortless, tracking is vastly improved, inner groove distortion disappears, sibilant vocals are reproduced with a complete sense of correctness, all from a quiet background. 

The Naim Aro retains its liquid and sweet presentation but the treble is more incisive with greater impact and the sound is more tactile with a greater sense of space. The base sill retains its slight softness but is more dynamic.

I have been purchasing Hi-Fi for 50 years and have never achieved such an upgrade for such a small outlay. “

Unity - One Concept  

To get the most information from your turntable it is important not to lose any information from the record groove and to avoid colouration of the original recordings.

To attain this balance it is important that no part of the tonearm, arm-board, sub-chassis main bearing or platter can absorb energy or excite at audio frequency.

To achieve this most desirable combination we have carried out an extensive testing program using accelerometers and laser measuring devices to

discover the very best materials from which to create our  Unity - One Chassis combination and have now developed the totally new inert VP-1  armboard to fit your LP-12, also available separately from our e bay shop as a stand-alone upgrade

sub-chassis and armboard system that allows the very highest performance levels to be produced from the LP-12 turntable.

Unity - One The Best Material

We considered several engineering polymers the Unity One uses a full carbon acrylic armboard as opposed the Unity Two which uses Milled Alloy for minimal levels of energy absorption and offers superb value, the unity Two Milled alloy armboard can be purchased as an upgrade at a later date if required as well as the blue spring kit to upgrade to the full Unity Two Specification.

Unity  Subchassis unique Shape

The unusual shape of the Unity Subchassis has been developed by an ingenious Cad Program that has analysed every millimetre of the cross-section of the Aerospace Alloy to create this new unique shape that ensures a non-uniform cross-section that eliminates energy loss.

Unity Subchassis Icing on The Cake

The standard LP-12 chassis is often distorted making perfect alignment impossible.

The Unity Subchassis main bearing and arm-board seats are milled to be exactingly flat

 guaranteeing perfect alignment of the stylus to the record groove.

Vinyl Passion are pioneers in the development of the Acrylic Armboard for the LP-12, Vinyl Passion utilises a highly specialised Carbon impregnated Cast Acrylic for their VP-1 Polymer Armboard. This has now been in production for over 7 years and has won acclaim all over the world.

Recognising the need to improve the internal structure of the LP-12 even further has brought forth the development of the Unity Chassis.

This new VP combination of Sub-Chassis and Arm Board is the perfect marriage of materials - totally inert at audio frequency providing the tonearm perfect platform to perform at its very best.

The VP-1 Carbon Acrylic Arm Board is fastened directly to the Unity hardened Aerospace Alloy Chassis with non-magnetic Stainless Steel bolts to make a totally rigid perfectly aligned and resonant free join this is easily as strong as any one piece unit with the added flexibility of interchangeable arm boards
