Here's something that has recently become an essential part of my homebrew setup. This handy MADE IN USA device just holds carboys upside down to drain. They dry much faster sitting on one of these. Instead of two days it is often two hours. No more checking to pour out what collected in the bottom.

MADE IN USA and very durable. The thing is we don't usually offer anything that is not a homebrew essential. Until now I didn't view these as essential and didn't carry them. I have been making wine for over 10 years and my Grandfather and his friend Pete Simco made wine every year for 40 years. None of us ever had any of these. We used the old way... Rinse the carboy clean and let stand. Visit it in an hour and pour out the water. Visit it in another hour and pour it out again. Then visit it the next day and pour out the last little bit. A few hours after that it might be dry enough inside to toss in a tiny scoop of sulfite and cover the mouth with stretch wrap before storing.
Enter the carboy dryer! Say goodbye to condensation inside your carboys. Say goodbye to mildew. Clean your carboys, set them on the dryer and come back in a few hours. Dry as a bone. Drop in a scoop of sulfite, cover the carboy mouth, and store safely away. I think Pete and Fred would have wanted some of these if they had only been available back in the day!
You don't need one for every carboy you own but spares sure come in handy when you get seriously down to bottling and want to empty 4- 5 carboys at a time. Once the wine is bottled I just clean my carboys in the usual manner and set them on these to dry overnight. The carboy mouth is in a protected downward position where acetobacteria, wild yeasts, dust and other airborne nasties won't float in. Condensation drips down and out instead of pooling at the bottom of the jug. After the carboys dry you can even use these to stack empty PET plastic carboys 2 high for storage when the carboys are empty and not in use. Never go over 2 carboys high and never put an expensive glass carboy on the top it could get knocked over.
