Here's a strong, light-weight, and easy to handle 6 gallon Vintage Shop carboy.  The airlock and bung are included.  These brand new PET plastic carboys are essentially unbreakable and are made specifically for home brewing.  They are taste and odor free, impermeable to air, and crystal clear.  They have smooth sides which means no ribs and easy cleaning.  For use in all fermenting applications.  The 5 gallon carboy is a mainstay of home wine making and brewing and is the perfect size for full-size big boy wine and beer kits.  When full of wine or beer this carboy weighs a manageable 42 pounds. Vintage Shop carboys are not at all like plastic water cooler type carboys. A special virgin PET plastic is used to make these and it is non-absorbing, non-porous, and non-wetting (hydrophobic), so that it will not carry over flavors from one batch of wine or beer to the next.  Water cooler carboys don't need those characteristics and are sometimes made from recycled plastics so you can never be too sure what got in there.  Even if you love your glass carboys it is very handy to have one or two of these around as spares at racking time.
 
Six gallons is a very common batch size for wine kits.  It is also good for 5 gallon batches of wine or beer when you want to leave some headspace for foaming or want to have a little extra liquid in there for topping off.  This is a set including the carboy, airlock, and correctly sized bung.  You'll also get three small free gifts that you will need!

Vintage Shop carboys may not be indestructible, but they are certainly unbreakable.  Their non-absorbing BPA and plasticizer free non-porous surfaces are easy to clean and sanitize.  They are durable and will last you many years.  Do not use hot water over 120 degrees in your PET carboy.  Your kit will come with care and usage instructions.  Comes with a #10 bung and a 3 piece Airlock.

There is an urban myth claiming that PET contains toxins, is unsafe for re-use, and is a major source of air pollution – utter nonsense. Vintage Shop virgin PET is exceptionally pure and stable, and it does not contain Bisphenol A or other problem additives.  I too used plastic bottled water carboys until I noticed that after a while the insides began to shed scales of the coating material...  Now for any storage over a few hours I use Vintage Shop or Glass.
