In the middle of measuring a pipe at the stock exchange, Michael Clancy, a plumber, accidentally purchases some stock and earns himself $200 on a 20 percent margin. Surprised at his luck in the exchange, Clancy wishes to pursue the treasure trail despite his partner Andy MacIntosh's disapproval. Clancy makes a fortune and leaves his business, hoping to enter the high society by having his daughter marry Freddie Saunders instead Andy's son. His daughter eventualyl leaves, and Clancy loses his fortune, left only with his forgiving friend.
