New Hejnar Photo conversion set for Manfrotto 410 gear head. This combination of plate and clamp will let you use Manfrotto geared head with any arca swiss equipment. Manfrotto gear head is more precise than ball head and preferred by many photographers. Many architectural and interior photographers actually prefer geared 3-axis tripod heads rather than ball heads because they can make precision adjustments to each axis. Two popular heads are Manfrotto 405 and 410 which each use Manfrotto QR plate. Arca-swiss plate fans can now bypass this. Clamp can disconnected from plate and use independent on other equipment if needed. Clamp can be positioned in relation to adapter plate in 90 degree increments to make it convenient for everybody. Clamp can be mounted to adapter plate either with two or three screws and will depends on clamp orientation
This is extended version of the plate. Clamp center is located on Manfrotto 410 camera/lens mount axis and it is the same as the head panning base. In other words, if you look down through the 3/8 mount hole on the 410 it is the exact center of the bottom panning control. When the head is panned both the head and camera/lens rotate around the same axis. For distant subjects original Manfrotto arrangement for this gear head is just an inconvenience. But for critical panoramic or most especially macro work this is a killer and makes the 410 useless. Using this adapter plate/clamp combination you can enjoy your pano and macro photography again.
Adapter plate is attached to Manfrotto geared head in two simple steps.
1) removing lock down level with provided 3mm hex key.
2) Connect plate to geared head using one 1/4-20 screw and one 10-32 screw.
