Intumescent Fire & Smoke Seals
These can be supplied with or without smoke seals (please see our shop for the Fire Seal Only Version) and in a range of rebate and brush sizes and all come in a length of 2100mm. They are fitted with self adhesive backing to adhere into the rebate.
All of the above items are available with 5mm, 7mm or 10mm brush, with or without fin – please state when ordering. (Please note that approximately 2mm of the brush is in the holder (i.e. the 5mm brush will actually protrude by 3mm) For 12mm or 15mm brush, please telephone for prices – these are only available in white or grey.
PLEASE NOTE: Item picture shown above shows the standard brush length of 5mm brush, this does not represent the larger Brush Lengths we are able to supply (7mm, 10MM)

Product Information
Intumescent Fire & Smoke Seals has been designed for use in fire resisting door assemblies which have been designated as smoke control doors. The seal slows the spread of smoke and fire through a building by reducing the flow of smoke and air through the gaps between the leaf and the frame or an adjacent leaf edge during the early stages of a fire. Activated by heat, the material rapidly expands to seal the air gaps between the leaf and frame, insulating and protecting the gaps - thereby significantly slowing the spread of fire through the doorset.
Use
Used for fitting the doors, door frames and windows. once fitted the plastic facing of the seals can be painted, although the brush or rubber smoke seal must NOT be painted.
THERM-A-STOP meets the requirements for fire and smoke performance of BS476 : parts 20, 22 & 31.1.
It has also passed the more exacting standards required by Certifire.
NB: as smoke can kill before fire, it is always best to fit intumescent seals with smoke seals
