As with all centrifugal clutches they need to be constantly oiled for a long life. We recommend 2-3 drops on the bushing under the snap ring every time you refuel being careful not to get any oil between the drum and the shoes as this will cause slippage. You need to know the amount of teeth on the rear gear and the size of the rear tire. Gear ratios outside of these recommendations voids any warranty.
In order not to try and fight the laws of physics the proper gear/tire combination with a 10 tooth clutch should be around a 54 tooth rear sprocket with an 11" tall tire. Many people have tried to use 13" - 18" (or larger) outside diameter tires with out a jackshaft (gear reduction system) and have reduced a brand new perfectly good clutch to scrap.
