Long big 108 Rudraksha Bodhi seed (one type of very hard Bodhi seed) Buddhist prayer beads mala necklace from Nepal, each bead around 9mm diameter, for the total length around 38 inches. 108 is an important number in Buddhism because one must overcome 108 evils to reach enlightenment. 

It is believed that Rudraksha seed was originated from the tears of Shiva. He had been meditating for many years for the welfare of all creatures. On opening the eyes, hot drops of tears rolled down and the mother earth gave birth to Rudraksha trees. Rudraksha seed malas are the original Vedic Beads of Power worn by the Yogis of India and the Himalayas for thousands of years to maintain health and to gain self empowerment and fearless life on their path to Enlightenment and Liberation.

Tibetan Buddhist prayer beads Malas are also known as the Buddhist rosary, as a tool for repetition of a mantra during meditation. Prayer beads are used to count mantras, as your fingers pass over one prayer bead for each time you recite the mantra, which allow the mind to focus totally on the mantra, thus to achieve  enlightenment easier.

All  my Tibetan jewelry are hand crafted by  very skilled local artists in Nepal / India, and most of them are in vintage style. Please read some materials regarding hand crafted vintage style jewelry from Nepal / Tibetan before any purchase,  as such style jewelry may be not that smooth all around, and there may be residue  material for vintage effects on both the front and the back (please only clean  the inner side if necessary, as otherwise, the vintage looking would be damaged),  also quite some are with various small stones that are glued to the setting and  these stone may become loose (please glue such loose stone back to the setting  when needed). These characteristics are very different  from modern style jewelry, of which quite some are machine made, with exact same pattern same stone and smooth all around.
