James Hall was an American  film actor who began his career in the silent film era. He made
 his sound debut in the 1929 film The Canary Murder Case, opposite William Powell and Louise
 Brooks. In 1930 he starred opposite Jean Harlow and Ben Lyon in Howard Hughes' epic film
Hell's Angels. Hall's last film role was in the 1932 drama Manhattan Tower. Died at 39 of 
cirrhosis of the liver.
