We only use bone or sometimes brass on our own builds. This nut is pre slotted and sized 1.5" wide for J style basses. Check your measurement requirements, can be compatible with other modern styles as well. Ready to install,  ut may need some light shaping, filing and or shimming for your particular bass and string height preferences.
