First issue of the legendary zine
with Lou Reed cover

New York: Punk Publishing, 1976. Volume 1, Issue 1. Folded, unstapled sheets. Near Fine. Tiny closed tear to inner spread page edge and a bit of toning to wraps, otherwise in excellent shape. Articles on Lou Reed, The Ramones, actor Marlon Brando ("Marlon Brando: The Original Punk" by Joe Koch), comics, a Legs McNeil "interview" with Sluggo from the comic strip Nancy, and more. Ground Zero of the punk movement, maybe(?), before it crossed the pond, lost some of its humor and Mad magazine attitude, coalesced into a somewhat singular aesthetic, and got famous.
