Here's 1 POUND of Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) yeast nutrient for adding nitrogen to your fermentations. This is fertilizer for yeast! Keeps fermentation bubbling along and prevents 'off' tastes and odors. If there is not enough nitrogen in your must or wort the yeast will deaminate dead yeast cells causing fusel oils to be produced as a by product. Use nutrients for the fastest fermentation and best quality whether it be beer, wine, mead or moonshine. DAP stimulates yeast growth and is a useful addition to yeast starters and wines lacking in natural nutrients like white wines. It is THE SPECIFIC nutrient for mead and pyment. Some winemakers add it to every fermentation with excellent results. Use 1/2 to 3/4 grams per gallon. DAP is the basic nitrogen ingredient for almost all yeast nutrients. To get FERMAX you would simply add yeast hulls to DAP. To get yeast ENERGIZER you would add yeast hulls, Epsom Salts, and yeast hearts or possibly ground up B Complex vitamin pills if you can find some that do not contain preservatives.

I have done many fermentations with DAP and the other products. The ENERGIZER is of course the best but also the most expensive. If you are fermenting anything with some kind of fruit in it you really don't need to spend the extra money for yeast hulls. A pound of raisins will serve the same function. For the cleanest tasting mead, this is the exact stuff you need! Other products may be mentioned you are bidding on the 1lb sack of DAP only.
