This fine tapestry is from a medieval type with a so-called "Mille Fleur" (Thousand Flower) background, and forms one of a series of 7 covering the subject of "Seignorial" life (bathing, concert, reading, walking, embroidering, hunting), representing the favourite pastimes of ladies and noblemen of the 15th and 16th centuries. The original tapestry series of 7 works, believed to have been woven in Flanders Belgium, is now displayed in the Cluny Museum.
