NEIL ARMSTRONG AND EDWIN “BUZZ” ALDRIN LANDED ON THE MOON ON JULY 20^th 1969. WHEN THE FIRST HUMAN FOOTPRINT WAS MADE ON THE LUNAR SURFACE, MISSION COMMANDER ARMSTRONG UTTERED HIS FAMOUS WORDS, “THAT’S ONE SMALL STEP FOR (A) MAN, ONE GIANT LEAP FOR MANKIND.” LUNAR MODULE PILOT ALDRIN JOINED HIM ON THE MOON’S SURFACE 20 MINUTES LATER. IN ORBIT ABOVE, MICHAEL COLLINS PILOTED THE COMMAND MODULE.

APOLLO 11 ENDED THE SPACE RACE WITH THE SOVIET UNION, AND FULFILLED THE PROMISE OF PRESIDENT JOHN F.
