CR28 Crossover 4 ohm 2 way 12 db 300 Watt RMS For A Component System ( Pair )

High Quality - High Performance 300 Watts RMS
2 Way 4 Ohm 12dB Crossover 3400 Hz. Crossover Point

Used with a Woofer or Mid Woofer and a Tweeter

Here is the deal, these are rated to 300 watts RMS, the crossover is designed to work with any basic 2 way component system. Maybe a small bit of wiring modification at most, the piece is very generic in how it works.
This is what you can expect to get, (2) two Mavin EM-CR28 300 watt RMS, 2 Way 12 dB Crossovers, all packaged in a nifty clear blue enclosure.
If you use in a automotive application, these work for any component 2 way design. That is mid woofer and tweeter, there is no connection for a sub, that is handled differently.
If you have a home system that is 4 ohm, this crossover, is suitable being used there too. It doesn't matter, Auto or Home, it works just the same, the only requirement is that it is used in a 4 Ohm design.

Used to tie together a low frequency Woofer or/ Mid Woofer and Tweeter in you car audio system.  Use it with a large woofer 8" to 12" or a mid woofer 5.25" or 6.5" even 6 x 9 designs. Adding a crossover can protect your tweeters, by only sending the high frequencies to that driver, shielding it from the full force of the high powered bass signal which can blow the tweeter.

What does a crossover do, and what is a crossover point?

  • A crossover is a kind of traffic cop for sound frequencies.  Think of it as a cop trying to protect a weak bridge from big heavy Trucks, the cop is the junction where the big heavy trucks are sent down a road that can carry their load, while allowing the smaller vehicles across, one's that will not harm the bridge.  In this case,  it sends the Low Frequencies to the Woofer or Mid Woofer, and the High Frequencies to the Tweeter.

  • The crossover point is the frequency where the transition from Woofer or Mid Woofer to Tweeter happens, in this case, it is at 3400 Hertz or Hz. for Short.

How do I match up my drivers to a specific crossover?

  • You look at the frequency response of the drivers or speakers you are using,  For the woofer or mid woofer, it needs to have a high range of some 4000 Hz. to the 3400 Hz. point and beyond.  The tweeter you use needs to have a low range of around 2800 Hz. something a few hundred hz. below the crossover point.  That way you insure good coverage at the crossover point

Wattage how do I choose drivers that will work with the crossover?

  • Since low frequencies require more power in order to be generated, due to the greater movement of the cone, make sure the woofer or mid woofer can handle the amount of power your source is putting out.  If you have a 300 watt amp, make sure the bass drivers can handle at least 300 watts.
  • High frequency sounds normally do not need as much power, because it takes less power to make the driver vibrate faster, the cone or diaphragm of a tweeter moves very slightly and very quickly to generate the high frequency sounds. So the tweeter can be one of a lower wattage design and still be safe from damage because of the crossovers control over frequency.  A 30 or 40 watt tweeter can be safely used in system this way.

When it comes to this type of product. If it doesn't sound good, we don't sell it. Plain and simple, if we won't use it in our own designs, we will not sell it.
