DENVER MINT

America's National Park Commemorative Quarters

Following the popular 1999 - 2008 Statehood quarter program and one-year 2009 D. C. and U. S. Territories quarter program, the United States Mint is issuing commemorative quarters with special reverse designs celebrating national parks and other national sites.  From 2010 - 2021, a park or site is being honored in each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the five U. S. Territories - Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, U. S. Virgin Islands, and Northern Mariana Islands.  Each national park or site was selected for its natural or historical significance.

The 56 different state, district and territory designs are featured on the reverse side of the quarter and are representative of the unique character and environment of the national park or historic site.  The obverse side of the quarter features a smaller restoration of the original Washington quarter portrait, modeled from a designer John Flanagan's 1932 plaster.

Like the Statehood quarters program, the America the Beautiful commemorative quarters are being minted and issued at the rate of five new designs per year, in approximately ten-week intervals.  The coins are being released in the order that the locations were first designated as national sites.  Once the scheduled ten-week period of production is over for each issue, no more quarters of that design will be minted for circulation.

Coins struct for general circulation bear a Philadelphia "P" mint mark or a Denver "D" mint mark signifying where the coins were produced.  Special-issue Proof quarters bear a San Francisco "S" mint mark and are available in both clad and 90% silver versions.  This exclusive folder provides individual labeled spaces for all 56 designs in the 2010 - 2021 America the Beautiful commemorative quarter series.
