CHARLIE CHAPLIN This auction is for an original/vintage lobby card (11"x14"), from the1923 re-release of the 1919 silent short film SUNNYSIDE. This card has two great images of Charlie Chaplin and in the featured scene, Charile is standing behind the counter of a General Store, poring sugar into a bag with a hole in the bottom...that he is too busy looking at his lovely co-star/customer, to notice! This card is captioned "Love's Labor Lost". The film stars Charlie Chaplin, Edna Purviance, Tom Wilson, Tom Terriss, Henry Bergman, and Loyal Underwood. Note, the card states "Re-Issue" at the bottom, which is signifying that this card is from the 1923 re-release of this 1919 film. The original release 1919 lobby cards are monotone, so these full color re-issue lobbies are more attactive than the 1919 cards (in our opinion). This is one of two lobbies from this great film that we have listed this week! CONDITION: This item is in VERY FINE+ condition...it looks absolutely fabulous, with no tear or pinhole in sight! Just under the "Sunnyside" title, there is a 1¼" x 3" snipe the reads "Comedias Batuta" "Sem esta marca não é Batuta", which covers the regular Pathépicture logo. It is possible that this could be removed if someone was inclined to do so, and had the right skills.
