DESCRIPTION:

Classic Thor 15" Statue depicts Thor atop a rune-etched stone pedestal base. The classic version of Thor reenacts the winged bowl helmet, the billowing red cape, the disk-plated costume and the knee-high tiger-striped boots. Thor is armed with Mjolnir. The son of Odin, Thor hails from the kingdom of Asgard. Odin was proud of his son, although initially, in order to help teach Thor the one virtue that he lacked, which was humility, Odin dispatched Thor to Earth where he was saddled with a half-life as a mortal human. In order to transform into Thor, he struck his cane against the closest solid foundation, at which point the cane assumed the form of the legendary Mjolnir. The mystic hammer, a symbol of heroism, reinforced Thor’s vast strength and durability. Thor continued to serve as a champion of Asgard while alternately defending the Earth against both supervillains and varying outré threats. Thor’s vigil on Earth, meanwhile, was constantly harried by his envious and spiteful half-brother Loki.
