In this example, dating from 1970, the original dial (signed 'Omega'; 'Geneve' and 'Swiss Made') and gold fittings are in outstanding original condition. The dial is mounted with hand rivetted raised gold index bar hour markers, black stick hands and a smoothly sweeping gold centre seconds hand.
 
The watch measures 34mm in diameter excluding the crown and the lug size is 18mm.

The 6XX series of mechanical movements is considered by many to be among the most robust and reliable ever made by the Omega Watch Company and this Calibre 601 example is faultless and runs perfectly having been fully stripped down, cleaned, oiled and serviced. This excellent hand-winding example of the master watchmaker's craft will give many years of untroubled service beyond the warranty period.

The watch is authenticated and warranted for a full year by a Rolex accredited CMBHI watchmaker with over 40 years experience.

The pictures are of the actual movement which you will not believe is approaching 50 years old.

The movement is signed 'Omega Watch Co. Swiss'; '17 jewels'; and logo'd '601'(1) as you would expect.  The '1' numeral bracketed above the calibre number indicates a Grade 1 quality movement as identified by the manufacturer.

The solid 9 carat solid gold case is in immaculate order having been sympathetically professionally polished to an attractive brushed finish. The inside of the case back is hallmarked of course and is stamped Omega Watch Co and 131.841 2 which indicates a 9ct version of case ref 131.041. Please see below the extract from the offical Omega database pertinent to these case references.

The case reference, together with the 32,xxx,xxx serial number stamped on the movement, dates the watch accurately to 1970.

The movement adjusts perfectly from the signed original Omega knurled gold plated stainless steel crown which is in good condition and operates smoothly.

This lovely old timepiece is supplied with a brand new genuine black padded leather Omega strap with new gold plated stainless steel Omega buckle which sets off the gold features beautifully and look stunning on the wrist.

It is presented in a high quality wooden cushioned watch box with an attractive walnut finish.
