All my stamps I describe exactly as I would like to see them described for myself, as if I were you the buyer. If it is an individual stamp or a small group I want to see the backs and I want to know if there are any faults I cannot see and I expect you do as well, if it is an item I want I don't mind small faults but I do want to know they are there.  I have been buying and selling stamps for over 50 years and I am not out to deceive you in any way.
I do attempt to describe very accurately all of my lots. With early Queen Victoria and imperf stamps, the margins, postmarks and any hinge remains on the reverse side are there for you to see on the scans but thins, rips, tears, pin holes etc I always mention as a fault on individual stamps. On all other Victorian stamps and stamps up to the present day perforations, centering, postmarks and any hinge remains on the reverse are also there for you to see on the scans but any other hard to see faults are always mentioned.  With unmounted mint all stamps will have the original perfect gum unless mentioned. With larger lots (over 50 stamps) firstly I inspect the backs throwing out any serious missing perfs, missing corners, rips, tears or thins but I do include some stamps that may have hinge remains from previous collections. Then I look at the fronts disposing of any with surface damage or heavy postmarks, this ensures all stamps are of good collectable examples. I always scan every stamp you will receive, no stamp is scanned twice unless it is seperately scanned back and front, helping you to see the condition. Stamps over 100 years old in the collections may have slight faults, possibly a small crease, thin or hinge remains from a previous collection but nothing that affects the stamp as viewed from the front making it a collectable item. All individual stamps are as described as accurately as possible with any faults mentioned.
