You may need to make your own mounting bracket to install Y Axis Scales. It's super easy, see installation picture below. Many people don't like the original one and they make their own to fit on machine

This is the scale installed on knee

Digital vertical scale installed on the quill. Installation is your part. There is no universal bracket on the quill, fit or not, depends on how well you make the bracket, nothing I have on the quill. Scale body is steel, and you can cut shorter to fit on quill. Scale is about 5-6" travel.

This quill scale won't be connect to display unit, so you'll read quill travel from digital scale itself.
