UP FOR AUCTION:

A beautiful all glass banquet lamp.  

Cut diamonds crystal or glass, three piece design with threaded connector and glass sleeve, signed 303 on the bottom of font and top of foot, English make Duplex burner and Lustre Germany chimney.  Ca. 1890s - 1910, likely foreign or English manufacture, excellent quality, maybe Baccarat or Waterford.

Lamp measures 32" tall to top of chimney, 18 1/2" to top of collar, 8 1/2" across the foot.  Heavy, weighs almost 8 pounds unpacked, will disassemble for safer shipping. Compare with other items (Not Included!) in the last photo. 

Lamp in great condition with no chips or cracks or stains, burner excellent used, chimney OK.  Clearly the best example of this style lamp I have offered.

Question:  Is this lamp functional? Have you tried lighting it? Does it come with a wick? What size wick does it take? Thanks!

Answer:  Thanks for the interest. I just installed two new old stock wicks in the burner, I haven't tested it, but looks like it would work fine to me. Do you want me to test it and add some photos??? Go ahead, make my day. It just started snowing here again, and I haven't lit a lamp since yesterday to take the chill off. 

Question: That would be great!  But I just want to use it as a functioning lamp. I love unique items that are also functional. Thanks! 

Answer:  The good news is, the lamp holds oil fine, and burns nice!  The bad news is, while I was testing the lamp, the offered chimney broke.  I replaced the Lustre chimney with a flat bulge duplex style, that seemed to work better.  I have added the photos here of the lamp being tested.  Buyer gets choice of the 10 1/2" tall duplex chimney that works, or a 12" tall signed Crown Quality chimney similar to the one that broke.  Just let me know after the auction ends.
