American Flyer Bulb, # 2432R + 2432G (24v) for 720, 720A Switch Controllers (8)

 

The bulbs are #2432Red and #2432Green (PAINTED), and are 24v, E10 screw base, G4.5 globe (.545in or 14mm). This bulb is used in all 720 Switch Controllers, and in the 678, 679, and 720A Switch Controllers that utilized bulbs. These 24v bulbs will operate with less heat, and last longer, even with a minor decrease in illumination. After 1956 the switch controllers were not illuminated, although the earlier 720A controllers would work correctly with those switches.

 

These bulbs are extensively used in Lionel 022C controllers for their 022 & 112 switches (Lionel bulb 408-45 = 432G, 28-6 = 432R) as well as some accessories, and Marx accessories. It may also be used in Lionel #s, 164, 221, 224, 1101, 1121 (pre 1949), 1121C (pre 1950), 1654-5-6, 1666, 2440-1-2-3, 2600-1-2, 2640-1-2-3, 6440-1-2-3, and also in the Command Control.
