Ludwig Donath was an Austrian-born actor, in American films from 1942. Best known
for Gilda (1946) starring Rita Hayworth and Glenn Ford, The Al Jolson Story (1949)
 and Alfred Hitchcock's Torn Curtain (1966) starring Paul Newman and Julie Andrews.
He was briefly blacklisted in the 1950s for alleged left-wing connections.
