Jardiniere Cachepot with Four Muses

DESCRIPTION: Estate fresh, we are selling a WEDGWOOD Jasperware white on cobalt blue dip Jardiniere with a Buy it Now price of $249.95. The bright deep blue cobalt Jardiniere is decorated with crisp white Bas Reliefs of Apollo with three muses Terpsichore, Thalia and Calliope and elegant clusters of grapevine supported on traditional lion's head masks.  There is a flower border band on the upper rim and simple white border trim next to the base. The jardiniere is incised WEDGWOOD (only) on the base.  It is impressed with an L for the year 1883, before the McKinley Tariff act was passed in 1891.  It is also impressed with the shape number 317, the number 7 for the size and a letter that I am unable to decipher.

 

MEASUREMENTS:  The jardiniere  is 6 1/4 inches high and 7 1/2 inches in diameter.     

CONDITION:  EXCELLENT antique condition.  No chips, cracks, breaks or repairs and the Bas-relief detail is crisp.  As shown in the photo #3 there are two tiny areas where the white border trim is missing near the base. Has light stains inside the jardiniere from normal use.  Vibrant cobalt blue, displays beautifully.
