Here is another of the several large Arizona Turquoise mines. This one is another of the large copper mines that turquoise is found as they are mining the copper. This mine is named after the mountain behind it that looks like a sleeping beauty silhouette. This mine has been supplying most of the turquoise for several years now for the American market . Most of the turquoise from this mine is a soft blue color. The turquoise from this mine runs very consistant in color and works very well for all the inlay work and the tiny stones that are used in the Zuni pieces. While this mine has supplied our needs for many years now, that might be a thing of the past also. This mine has shut down providing us turquoise for several years now and teh back stock of Sleeping Beauty has been used up and the demand for this turquoise has risen.And as time moves ahead we find this mine is also running out and the supply of this material is getting harder to get. Sleeping Beauty has been the only source for what I will label pure blue turquoise with little or no matrix depending on how it is cut..The color runs from a very in demand soft Robins egg blue and into some very intense bright and darker blue colors.The top of the bright blue color spectrum I have labeled "Electric Blue" which is a top blue that is so intense blue it jumps at you..The most valuable stones are the ones with the most intense blue color. The price of course has risen to extreme levels in recent years for Sleeping Beauty...Had I know I would have stashed more of this material..This stone comes from my 45 year collecting turquoise stash. I am currently in production on this mine and will release details about it when I have ALL URL protection and copy rights in place to have complete rights to it.....sorry for that, I have been down that road before ...!!!!...I am planning a release party next summer in Santa Fe on this mine with top artists work displaying it.... any that want a participation let me know...!!!!!!!!
