In May 2014 Truro in Cornwall was transported 200 miles away to Corsham
in Wiltshire and 250 years back in time. The filming of the new version of the
BBC,s classic 1970s Poldark serial was underway. Corsham photographer
Andy Rose recorded the process as construction of the open set gave way
to the arrival of an army of extras and a cast headed by Aidan Turner.
This striking series of behind-the-scenes photographs encapsulates
the mood and atmosphere of the filming, with brooding romantic hero Ross Poldark very much to the fore.
