The Seiko  Monster  mark one might be one of the most polarizing dive watches ever released. THIS ONE IS in NICE CONDITION JUST A FEW MARKS ON THE BEZEL AND CASE glass is mint  .Genuine Seiko bracelet with divers clasp Seiko logo on clasp will just fit 8 inch wrist .Still has very good lume when it get some light to it  not easy to find a nice orange mark one monster nowadays nice seiko box with card not filled in and book .The watch is from JULY  2002 so a nice early one not with the higher glass that the 2000/2001 models had so its in lovely but not mint condition

Both sides have a point – the Seiko Monster is no beauty queen. But with a watch like the Monster, that was never the intent. Just look at the name: “Monster”, it was always destined to scare some people.

The Monster is all about rugged dive capability offered at an exceptional value. Like the Seiko SKX779 , you can most Monsters for less than $500 – and for that you’re getting a pretty amazing watch: 200 meters of water resistance, a reliable low-maintenance mechanical movement, and an incredibly overbuilt dive watch that can withstand a lot of abuse.

Not to mention, the aggressive design has been known to grow on the unbelievers. I’ve witnessed many a convert spend years hating the Monster before finally giving up and falling in love with what it is: an unabashed tool-watch.

Enjoying 10 years of continuous production, there is no denying that the Monster might be one of Seiko’s most popular modern dive watches. The basic model has evolved over three generations, 
The Seiko SKX779 "black Monster" (7S26-0350) is a 42mm men's automatic watch with a stainless steel case and a orange analog dial protected by hardlex crystal. It uses a 7S26 caliber self-winding mechanical movement that cannot be manually wound or hacked (the second hand does not stop when the crown is pulled out). It ticks 6 times per second which gives the second hand a smoother movement than quartz watches which tick once per second. The watch should run for up to 43 hours when fully wound and will self-wind when moved. 

The case of the SKX781 measures approximately 42mm wide (not including the crown) by 12mm thick and is water resistant to 200 meters. This should be sufficient for splashes, rain, baths, showers, swimming and even scuba diving. The crown screws down to help prevent it from being accidentally pulled out while under water. The stainless steel bezel shows minute numbering and can be rotated. The gap between the lugs is 20mm and the bracelet band can be adjusted to fit using a link removal tool or removed using a band removal tool to be replaced with another band.

     When setting the day keep turning the crown to get to the next language. On most models SUN will be red and on some models SAT will be blue.
  • Date window to show the day of the month. Note that some watches may be damaged if you attempt to change the date between 8:00 PM and 2:00 AM, in which case you should change the time to be outside that range first then reset the time after adjusting the date. Check your watch manual for details.
