Yngwie Malmsteen Miniature Guitar Replica -

Display Case & Stand Included

Born Lars Johan Yngve Lannerback on June 30th 1963, Yngwie J. Malmsteen was definitely an early starter on the road to Rock, starting his first band, Track On Earth at the age of 10. When he was 12 he took his mother's maiden name, Malmsten, changed the spelling to Malmsteen and adopted it as his own surname.

As a teenager Malmsteen was heavily influenced by Classical music, in particular the Italian composer and virtuoso violionist Niccolo Paginini. It was during his teens that he was to discover the guitarist who would become his biggest influence. That guitarist was Ritchie Blackmore and the young Malmsteen would study Blackmore's playing techniques and absorb a lot of his style into his own playing. Unlike most of his peers, Malmsteen always claimed that he was never musically influenced by Jimi Hendrix, and the only 'cool' thing he saw Hendrix do was smash and burn his Guitar

Malmsteen's guitars were always pretty heavily modified to cope with his fluid and frenetic playing style. He fitted his guitars with brass nuts which, he claimed, along with the large headstocks, improved sustain. Perhaps the most radical modification to Malmsteen's guitar is the heavily scalloped fingerboards. This was a modification that his hero Ritchie Blackmore also carried out to his guitars and is said to improve string bending and help with fast runs up and down the neck
