This is our representation of a locally fabricated Fairweather style cartridge belt using harness leather. It is made from a plain leather belt with 25 cotton web loops sewn on by hand for .45-70 rifle and six smaller loops for  .45 pistol cartridges. The buckle is a typical roller harness buckle.

This style belt was much more popular than the various cartridge boxes then on issue.  They were made up by the unit saddler or by soldiers themselves using whatever materials were readily available.

This belt is adjustable to fit from 40 to 44 inches

Bullets are shown for illustration purposes only and are NOT included.
