Description

This tea is really a tea of contrasts. It is a rare tea, specially produced in the gardens of Mancotta, Assam. Assam is normally famous for their dark black teas with characteristic malty taste. In contrast, this is a jade green wiry leaf with a lot of velvety tips which yields a pale liquor with coppery tones.

The dry leaf aroma is a fantastic mix of sweet with hints of ocean fresh vegetal aroma. When brewed, the tea smells much softer.

The tea is sweet and smooth and it has very little astringency. It is energizing while also being soothing and relaxing to sip. You can find hints of honey, buttery, nutty, vegetal without bitterness. The lingering sweet aftertaste leaves you satiated and yet hankering for more.

Description

Matcha is a green tea that looks somewhat like hallucinogenic green cocoa, is drunk whole rather than steeped and has a strong oceanic vegetal taste with a very sweet aftertaste. Due to the fact that it is drunk whole, this tea has atleast 3 times the antioxidant found in other green teas and several times that found in a glass of orange juice.  Matcha is also said to boost metabolism and help reduce cholesterol levels when it is drunk regularly. It is a very versatile drink and can be had hot or cold, sweetened or unsweetened. It goes particularly well with dairy and can even be used as an ingredient in a variety of foods ranging from cakes and ice creams to scones and cookies.

One of the highest grades of Matcha, this Chiyomukashi Matcha can be used in tea ceremonies or for daily use as a rich source of antioxidants. It is rich, aromatic, has an intense colour with a lightly sweet finish.
