What a masterwork of stitching and placement of fabrics this is. The detail in the stitching is wonderful, made from deep rich cottons, silks velvets and brocade fabrics. It is in very nice vintage condition-there are a few silks that is shattering (as shown). The quilt is backed with a lovely polished blue cotton and it is trimmed with a unique fringe trim (this may have been added later if the binding had worn away). It is entirely hand quilted. This quilt is truly beautiful-a real show stopper-excellent piece of history. There is a second quilt from the same estate that is identical other than fabric size and placement. Quilt#A
